Welcome to the Digital Forensics Exercise 2011 website. This one-day event will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011, on the campus of the University of Illinois at Springfield.

The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for students attending Illinois community colleges and universities to explore computer forensics education through exercises targeting introductory forensic skills. The hands-on exercise will include an academic lesson and engage the next generation of computing professionals in a digital forensic scenario.

Current college and university students from across the state of Illinois may apply to participate in this event.

Students who wish to apply must meet the following criteria:

1. U.S. Citizen
2. Currently enrolled student at an Illinois community college or university
3. Completion of a college-level, information security or networking course

This is an exciting opportunity that allows students to gain practical experience in the field of digital forensics. Students need to submit a completed, online application by October 14, 2011. Applications will be reviewed and students will be notified of their status by October 20, 2011.

Deadline to submit an application is October 14, 2011.

The Digital Forensics Exercise is brought to you by Springfield InfraGard Members Alliance, and its valued partners, the Center for System Security and Information Assurance (CSSIA) and the Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois at Springfield.
