Dr. Ted Mims is a professor and serves as the department chair in the Computer Science program at the University of Illinois at Springfield. He has successfully introduced networks into the computer science curriculum at UIS. His main areas of teaching are networks, systems security and information assurance. He has continued his professional development taking formal advanced graduate course work, NSF sponsored courses and workshops, attending conferences and obtaining industry certifications.
Professor Mims has been recognized for his classroom teaching and administrative leadership skills. His current research is related to developing laboratory and instructional modules for teaching about networks, systems security and information assurance. Professor Mims has successfully involved undergraduate and graduate students in research projects. Several students have made conference presentations and have had their papers published. |
