In 2012, the Center for Systems Security and Information Assurance (CSSIA) at Moraine Valley Community College, Palos Hills, Illinois is hosting the Midwest Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition as a two-day event taking place March 16th & 17th, 2012. The winning teams from the 2012 Collegiate Cyber Defense Regional Competitions will converge to the National CCDC in San Antonio to test their security skills against a host of adversaries ranging from troublesome employees, unreasonable management, and a professional Red Team in the annual National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.
Volunteers
The competition begins at noon on a Friday and runs through the weekend ending with an award ceremony on Sunday afternoon. CSSIA is in need of volunteers to act as "White Team" judges for this event. White team judges observe the competition, ensure team compliance with the rules, and handle simple tasks such as scoring scripted business events during the competition. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and help train our next generation of cyber defenders. Volunteers can serve for a single day, multiple days, or for the entire competition. To ease scheduling and the familiarization process we ask volunteers to cover a 3 hour block of time when possible.
If you would like to become a sponsor, volunteer, or if you would like more information, please contact David Durkee at ddurkee14@oh.rr.com or 440-488-0331.
